Hi, im currently in yr12 doing maths, further maths, economics and physics looking to do either economics or economics and maths at uni such as Warwick and UCL (Econ and Statistics). I’m currently on A* (maths) AA, don’t have a grade for fm yet as we do all of maths in yr12 and sit the exam then start fm in yr13. I’m considering dropping physics despite being on a solid A because it would give me more time to put towards my other subjects and supercurriculars (and be less stressed) . However I’m not sure whether this would disadvantage me for tops unis as despite unis only looking at top 3 a levels many people will be applying with 4? Also everyone else at my school doing fm would be doing 4 a levels. I asked if it was possible to do AS but my teacher said it’s not possible to sign up now? should I drop completely or maybe do as physics in yr13 or maybe ask the school to enter be as a late entry? I was thinking of maybe asking the school to pick up epq but not sure how beneficial it would be and not sure what my question would be. Please advice, thank you

What supercurriculars are you thinking of doing (or is that the EPQ)? Maybe have a think if those would be as beneficial as sticking with Physics.

I recognise you said that dropping Physics would enable you to feel less stressed. Are you finding the workload unmanageable/do you think it's going to affect your grade?

Supercurriculars to write about in my personal statement such as books, lectures, work experience etc.
Right now I find the workload manageable however find myself with little time to focus on economics with my other subjects, especially as we get daily maths exercises to do and I usually don't get to sleep on time. Im more worried about the workload in yr 13 and mock/exam season as I've heard a2 physics is much harder and I will be doing this alongside learning fm (since we do it all in yr13). I will also have to tmua in yr13.

There is no need to take four A levels. Drop Physics unless you are super keen on it.

If you think it will take up too much time, then drop physics.
You could always do an EPQ instead if your school will let you.

I don't think they would let me do epq as they start it at the beginning of yr12
