Don't be worried. Our email mentions the following statement: "You will receive separate communications for each project you have applied to (please note that we are unable to confirm a specific date by which all outcomes will be known)." Based on this, I think the position you've applied for, has not come to a conclusion yet. Which department have you applied for?
Thanks for your kind message! However, our department doesn't have many projects. I’ve applied to the Brain Sciences Faculty, which faculty are you in?

I have only applied for a position in the School of Environment. I don't think that at this stage there would be any direct rejections. I mean that should you not receive the award in the first place, they would put you on the reserve list. Nevertheless, fingers crossed.

I'm happy for you and hope you receive final acceptance as well! Fingers crossed for you ( ^_^ ) I’ll also update this room for future students who will apply next year. Based on last year’s experience, those who don’t receive anything from the panel will get their official rejection emails later on. Fingers crossed for everyone still waiting!

Also, I should mention that I’m an international student, and the competition is definitely competitive. Even with six published journal papers as first author and three conference papers (and also am currently employee in UCL), it seems I wasn’t accepted in the first round. I’m sharing this for future students who might be in a similar situation—so they don’t feel bad about themselves. You’re not alone, and the process is highly competitive.

In solidarity, I've not received any emails either. I had applied to dept. of medical physics and biomed engineering. Too early to conclude, but I'm leaning towards the possibility of a rejection.

Any acceptance emails here??

still nothing😪

I received an email saying I was on the reserve list, dept of Physics. It is competitive but I don’t have publications or even an undergrad project and wasn’t outright rejected, so I guess there a lot of factors.

Reply 72

Did anyone receive an offer? it is weird that it is 4.14 and some of our still receive nothing, does this likely indicate a rejection?

Reply 73

They took too much time to reply, I have other offers I need to reply reply to soon :frown:

Did they mention any tentative date by which the preference of primary candidate will be finalized? What else did they include in the mail? Was this mailed by EPSRC themselves?

Has anyone received any acceptances or informal offer for studies yet? Should we mail someone to get any updates? I am rather anxious.😓

Epsrc is basically the same as UCL, so I am not sure what you mean, I always receive emails from epsrc@ucl. No other detail was given other than that I will be contacted in the future.

Hey Guys,
I think at this time the university have only conveyed two types of emails; rejection and reservation. I think they will prioritize the reserve list and finalize the selection. What is your idea?

Reply 78

I was querying if you received the mail directly from EPSRC org. or from the supervisor/PGT Admin people, but thank you. It has been rather late and there has been no updates from EPSRC so I was contemplating on writing an email to them regarding the same. Please advise.

I, myself, received the email indicating my reservation from the EPSRC. I have contacted my supervisor and he conveyed that EPSRC do not often provide them with information before the final decision.
