How do you revise for English/History

I will be bluntly honest, both my English and History teachers officially cooked me. They're NOT good at teaching the subject, and I don't know how they ended up becoming teachers in the first place. I'm not trying to shade them or trying to put out a fit. But it is true, GCESE's is in 3 months away and I don't know what to do. In advance, I even asked them for help on how can I revise but most of the time they give out the most horrible and rubbish ways to revise, 'reading' or 'make revision cards'. (I'm not saying they're bad ways to revise) but it's bad tips to give it to a student who doesn't know what you teach, (or should I say nonsense yaps that takes up the entire duration of lesson time).

Worse of all, I can't really just revise by words but more by demonstration like videos or drawings. Which I highly helps me to learn and focus more actively, but unfortunately I can't find those type of resources for History or English.

(before you attack me on why I even picked history, if I don't like writing so much. It's because there wasn't much options to pick out and half of those options were all writing based subjects, ykyk?)

Personally, the most helpful way for me to revise History and English was making plans for past paper questions and writing practice essays. I'd then give these to my teachers to mark but if you don't think that would be helpful with your teachers, maybe try asking others in your class to read through it? Also for History, I remember we learned a ton of acronyms and mnemonics which really helped so maybe try looking for those, or make some up. Hope this helps.

I’d recommend firstly watching YouTube videos on the books/topics etc that you’re studying, then using your textbook or other online resources (eg physics and maths tutor) to make or download notes to revise from.
