Hi @zesty17

Economics is mostly mathematical here at Southampton and at the majority of universities. I would recommend you check the course pages of the universities you are interested.

In particular, you will study Econometrics which is basically statistics and data analysis. There is some compulsory modules in Econometrics but also optional ones so you can actually specialise to make your degree more mathematical. The other modules use Calculus and Algebra. Most modules are based on an exam which doesn't require an essay. Those that do, they will explain how to do an essay and what they expect. So, even if you struggle with essays, you will have the opportunity to learn it.

assuming youre talking about university, econ is extremely maths heavy and very little essay writing. any essays done wont really be marked on the fluency of the essay too but instead the academic content so should be fine regardless. depends on the univsity though as some may have economic theory modules etc which may require an essay or two but still not much

nah a level econ is more essay writing and theory. theres a bit of graphs and then very simple maths like basic division and multiplication.
