SFE tuition funding for a degree in chemistry

Hi, I have previously studied for a nursing degree and dropped out in my second year.

I would like to now reapply to university to study chemistry which is a passion of mine however I wasn't clear on whether I would get a full tuition loan for STEM courses?

Would I be entitled to get a full tuition loan as I haven't completed my first degree and would like to study a different course?

Hi there,

When would this course start? Can you confirm what university you would attend, the full name of the course and the duration of the course. Is it a full time undergraduate course?

Thanks, Drew

Hi there. Student Finance uses this calculation to work out how much funding you have left:

New course length + Additional Year Previous study years

For example, your new course is 3 years long, your calculation would be:

3 + 1 2 = 2 years Tuition Fee

We do not take any part time previous study into account for full time course, and vice versa.

Did you have any personal reasons you could not complete your previous course? Thanks, Leah.
