Second degree funding for foundation years?

Graduated with a 2:1 in my first degree in 2020 which was in BA History. Want to go back to university to study an Allied Health Profession, however I realised I don’t have a Science A-Level so I may have to do the Foundation year. Would Student Finance provide funding for year 0 (tuition and maintenance) and also the 3 years after?

Courses of interest: University of Liverpool
Human and Animal Health Professions (Diagnostic Radiography) (Year 0)” UCAS code: 4ASC
Human and “Animal Health Professions (Occupational Therapy) (Year 0)” UCAS code: 47OH.

These courses will lead to BSc Diagnostic Radiography and BSc Occupational Therapy at University of Liverpool. Please check if I could get funding (tuition and maintainence) for the foundation year and also the following 3 years undergraduate degree.

Thank you.

Hi there,

If you apply to one of these courses for the 4 year option then yes you would be eligible for full funding as they are exception courses.

Thanks, Drew

Hi Graeme

Just wanted to also ask that if these courses would also have the +1 gift year funding. Whilst I will be dedicating myself to do my best to suceed, I want to be reassured that if worse case scenario, something serious happens within these 4 years and I had to resit a year- would I still have that 1 gift year of funding from SFE?

Thanks.

Hi there,

Yes you would also have one additional year of funding if you had to repeat a year.

Thanks, Drew
