Which one is the best for reputation' out of these Unis for Law?

I've submitted my UCAS Application this year and I'm scared that reputation and prestige will turn off SOME employers. I have completed a month voluntary work in a London firm, so it's better than nothing so far. Could anyone help me rank out these unis from 1 (being best) to 5 (worst) on employability & rep?
Thank you in advanced <3

The Uni's I've applied to are:
-University of Leicester
-Nottingham Trent Uni
-University of Lincoln
-Manchester Met University
-University of Derby

Don't overly rely on ranking, reputation etc. Each uni has its own strengths and weaknesses.

What are your predicted grades and the offer conditions?

My predicted grades aren't that high only ABC.
Leicester is offering BBB with contextual, Trent and MMU are offering me BBC and Derby and Lincoln as BCC.
Congratulations for getting 5 offers! Great Job!

On the face Leicester appears to be potential firm. However, I strongly suggest you to look at course modules, the city lives of the uni before deciding on your firm and insurance.

Then, work very hard on your A Levels. I trust you can achieve higher grades. There were RG law programmes went to Clearing previous years. Keep On!

Hi @Manip

Congratulations on getting 5 offers - you should be very proud of yourself!

I agree with cksiu that instead of basing your decision off employability and reputation, you should look more into what each city is like, what are the different optional modules, how is the course taught etc. This will have quite a big impact on how you find your time at university and selecting a university that you will enjoy studying at is arguably the most important factor.

Additionally, I think that reputation of universities is slowly become less important from the perspective of Early Careers and Graduate Recruitment Teams. If you are an individual with high university grades and have a CV that can demonstrate commitment to law and a variety of skills (e.g. communication, teamwork) then the university that you go to will not impact whether or not you appear employable to law firms. It is more about the individual than the university that they study at.

That being said, reputation can still be something to consider. Personally, I would say that Leicester has a good employability and reputation. As a student of Leicester, I have managed to be successful with insight scheme applications and have also secured a vacation scheme at a Magic Circle Firm this summer. We frequently have law firms come in to do workshops and this is organised by either Law Careers Team or the Law Society. An example of firms that have engaged with Leicester this year are White and Case, Linklaters, A&O Shearman, Herbert Smith Freehills, DLA Piper, Travers Smith, Eversheds Sutherland.

I hope this provides a useful insight and feel free to ask any questions

Leicester or Nottingham Trent. But Leicester is the better regarded university in general.
