Entry requirements for MPharm

I’m in S5 and subject choices for S6 and I don’t know what to do. In S5 I’m doing 5 highers (Maths, English, Physics, Chemistry and Graphics) I got AAAAB on my prelims (the B being English)

I’ve realised that my subjects aren’t really useful for pharmacy as MPharm requires AH Chemistry and Biology (But AH Maths or Physics can be an alternative to one).

I thought about doing
- Advanced Higher Chemistry
- Advanced Higher Maths
- Higher Human Biology (Crashing)
- Higher Geography
Technically this qualifies the minimum requirements but I don’t know if it would be competitive enough for MPharm.

My other option is
- Advanced Higher Chemistry
- Advanced Higher Biology (Crashing)
- Advanced Higher Maths
This would be so difficult since I’ve not done N5 or Higher Biology and I’d have to do a lot during the holidays and it may even effect my chemistry and maths results but I don’t know if it’s my only option for pharmacy. The teachers are allowing me to crash the Advanced Higher in Biology.

Does anybody know if option 1 would be fine and option 2 is doing too much work for nothing? Or should I do the extra work in option 2 to increase my chances?

Firstly crashing advanced higher bio is crazy, I’m not saying you can’t do it but it would definitely take a lot of work. Here is one thing, if you do think you are up for it , then nothing should stop you.
From the results I’m seeing you are doing extremely well so good job on that :smile:

So, I’m thinking the second option is better because there are two subjects you are already familiar with and getting high grades on them. Crashing advanced higher bio would be a challenge but I think you can do it 👍 and that would increase your chances of getting into medicine. And if you can’t do the advanced higher bio, physics would do you well because you are already smashing it.
