Edinburgh Uni offer

I sent off my application for uni at the end of November and 2 out of 5 of the courses that I have applied to are at the university of Edinburgh. They sent me an email mid December asking what my degree preference would be out of the two that I have applied to as they will only make one offer and are in a position to make me an offer soon. I replied to them on the same day however I haven’t heard anything back and I haven’t received an offer yet. I was just wondering if I should contact them?

Hi our daughter was in the same position. Applied for 4 different courses at Edinburgh and they asked her which was her preference. She received an offer around 10 days ago. Scottish fees, athlete flag. They wait until after the deadline on 29th January before processing applications and I imagine they will make offers once they have processed all of them. If you have applied for a popular degree programme that receives thousands of applications, this could take a while. If you have applied for the less popular courses with <1,000 applications, it may not take quite as long. I wouldn't read too much into it. The good thing is that they are processing your application. Good luck!

What courses is it you’ve applied for? Offers have come out for some courses but not all. My DD has had an offer but we’re Scottish. Some of her class mates haven’t heard so it depends on the course.

I’m also Scottish! It’s for History and French

I’ve not heard of any languages or English offers yet. They might be later due to how popular? Hopefully you hear soon 🤞

Hi,
Just wondering if you got a personalized email asking for your choice. I also applied to 2 courses and both of them are still at “waiting for our decision” status and i did not get any personalized email that asks my choice?

Hi! I originally reached out to them as I received a general email from them and in it it mentioned that if you have applied to more than 1 course to let them know of your preference. However when I reached out to them I told them that I didn’t have a preference between the courses but then they emailed me a few weeks later and sent a personalised email asking for my preference.

Our daughter read the generic email in which it asked her to contact them to confirm her preferred course. She applied for 4 courses at Edinburgh. She gave the preference although the different departments process the applications separately and she now has 2 offers from Edinburgh. I would email the admissions team and confirm your preference

Actually my 2 courses also should be processed separately. Did your daughter just give one preference for each department? Or one for four? many thanks

Hi our daughter applied for 4 different courses at Edinburgh. Two of them under college of medicine (Medical Sciences and Biomedical sciences). She replied to the general email and confirmed Medical Sciences as her preference - so just one preference across all 4 degree programmes. But then the applications are processed separately so she now has an offer for both Medical Sciences (her preference) and Biomedical Sciences. Both are conditional on AAB. She is Scottish doing A levels.
