Hey Alfie! As an international student at the University of Birmingham, I can honestly say it’s been an amazing place to grow both academically and personally. I love how vibrant the city is and comes to life, especially at the night. It's been almost 5 months now and what really stands out here is the wealth of opportunities available. From career workshops and internship fairs that connect you to top companies, to the chance to get involved in unique student-run initiatives and societies that expand your network, UoB actively encourages you to get the most out of your time here. I am PG student, so time is of the essence, and also the university’s close ties with industries across the UK and Europe open doors for internships and job prospects, while the diverse community makes you feel welcomed and supported. It’s not just about studying i feel, it’s about developing skills, building relationships, and preparing for a global career. UOB in that sense would be a great choice 🙂 Good luck with your choice!

Hi, thanks for your question. As a Student Ambassador studying MA Global Public Policy at the University of Birmingham, I can attest that choosing between Birmingham and Liverpool involves weighing several factors. Birmingham offers a vibrant, cosmopolitan environment with excellent transport links and a diverse cultural scene, which I find particularly great for students interested in global policy issues. The university itself provides a strong academic foundation, with opportunities for networking and extracurricular engagement through its many societies and initiatives. My own experience as a UGS Scholar and involvement in various projects has shown me the value of Birmingham's supportive community and resources for postgraduate students. If you're considering the city's appeal, I'd recommend exploring its cultural events, student life, and academic opportunities to see if it aligns with your interests and goals.
