Both universities have their strengths, so it really depends on your priorities. Sheffield is highly regarded for research, has a great student life, and is more affordable, which could make a big difference in your overall experience. On the other hand, King’s has a strong global reputation and network, which might offer better career opportunities depending on your field. If prestige and connections matter more to you, King’s might be the better choice. But if you’re looking for a great student experience with strong academics, Sheffield is a solid option. What’s your course of study? That might help narrow things down!

Hi,
Trying to decide between unis can be really difficult. When I was in y13, I was torn between two choices too. The thing that helped me make up my mind was offer holder days. By visiting the university, I was able to get more information about the academic side and how I feel in the city. As research was something that I considered very important, I chose Sheffield based on my research areas of the professors in my department. The city is also important as this is where you will be staying for the next 3-4 years so it is good to get a feel for the vibe and how convenient it is for you.
If you have any specific questions about Uni of Sheffield, just let me know!
Best of luck, Jivanthika (3rd Year Computer Science and AI)
