how much is the accommodation for sheffield at endcliffe/ranmoor for an en suite ??
as some pages on the site say that it’s £8,200 roughly annually, whereas another page states it’s £170 ish a week which comes to £7,140 and i don’t know which one is true as this is a massive difference

It is £8,211.42 annually for an ensuite per the official Sheffield accom website:
https://www.sheffield.ac.uk/accommodation/ranmoor-endcliffe#rent-and-living-costs

The £170 ish a week figure was from 2024/25.

Yeah I know it's pretty nuts.

They, just like many other universities, are currently in a financial crisis so maybe they're trying to recoup some of this with accommodation but idk. There are cheaper alternatives in the city centre from private providers though.

It is such a shame that the prices are so high, but I think this is similar across most of the universities in the UK sadly.
Luckily, 1st year accommodation will be by far the most expensive year in accommodation. After first year you can get nice shared houses from £85-110 a week depending on how many people you live with. So it is worth baring that in mind if money is something you are worrying about.

honestly go private. im not in uni yet but my brothers both went private and they say its the best financial decision. youll have no money left in your first year and will have to depend on your parents alot or have to get a fpart time job just to be able to afford your accom

I think private is pretty good, they are much cheaper and with much better facility, en-suite room are generally in £110-130 per week, Studio about £150-200 per week. That much cheaper then the University’s accommodation
