A level Marhs or Physics

Hi,

Anyone doing A level Maths or Phsycis? Which one would you recommend? I like both but I am not sure which to pick alongside bio and chem for medicine . I’d prefer the one that’s slightly less hard and manageable. Is it true that you can’t do physics without math?

So I am a MED PhD student that did bio chem maths further maths and physics, as an experienced, honestly i would say just go maths, physics isnt really essential and you will cover some elements of physics in maths anwyays, but your med application, cats and etc will take up time, prioritise that with every minute, maths bio chem, the strong 3, good luck!

Would you say maths is slightly easier to understand than physics? I need an A and I am afraid that I might not be able to get that. I am confident I can get A* in all my other options. But for maths and physics both I am looking at a B ( I am still in year 11 and haven’t done exams so far on maths )

Physics without mathematics in lesson? - no.
Physics without mathematics for A levels? - I dunno.
Physics or mathematics for medicine? - physics is the better one in my opinion.

Would say maths, because its easier than physics, and from utility standpoint, u can do alot more with math and most things u can do with physics probably also requires math- engineering/physics being the main one. If u enjoy physics more go for it too and whether u can do physics without math depends on your school

You don't have to do either of them. Is there another subject you prefer?

i say do maths, i take physics chem and maths but i did biology as well in year 12. It makes no sense to do physics a level without maths imo, technically you can but honestly i would not recommend at all. Maths is way more versatile, also you'll have too many practical reports going on if you take all three sciences. Bio chem and maths is a nice solid combination.

Do physics. It has more potential.
I love physics. As a 13 year old physicist, I can confirm that its funner (not sure if that is word) than maths.
Just give it a try and if you don't like it, try maths.

I am 13 and I am doing maths and physics and I think doing both will be a good combo.

Honestly, Year 12 maths is not hard. If you want a challenge, I recommend physics.

I’m in year 12 and doing physics, chemistry and maths, and currently I prefer maths, but if you can stay on top of your work, try out physics
In maths you do a bit of mechanics as well
A lot of people going for medicine do Bio Chem Maths, I think it’s one of the most popular combos, some people also take psychology too

Hi!

I am doing both a level maths and physics, and personally, I've found maths easier.
Usually medicine student pick maths alongside bio and chem but I know of a girl who picked physics instead and she's doing just fine.
I don't personally think it's true that you can't do physics without maths since it's mainly just a whole lot of rearranging formulae and substitution in physics.

Good luck picking!
