Changing Schools

Hello! So, I just wanted to ask for some advice. I recently transferred schools (Feb of Year 12) since I wasn’t really performing well in my previous school and wanted to give a different style of teaching a chance. (I moved from a sixth form to a college.)

I have only been in my new school for around a week and found out a few days ago that I have mocks in March. (I’m unsure if these are my UCAS mocks, as I have another set of mocks in May.) But the panic of exams and the change in environment has kind of taken a toll.

I’ve really struggled to talk to new people and make new friends. I’m not really an extroverted person, and now, with the stress of mocks, I’m really struggling with motivation. Since I’m usually a social person, I think spending this much time alone has also had an impact.

I was wondering if anyone had any advice or maybe felt similar when changing schools—just for a bit of optimism. Thank you!

I changed primary schools cuz the kids were being racist and pulling off my head-covering so we left. Personally, I would say study hard but keep some time for yourself to the side. As for making new friends... I kinda get bullied so not that many friends.

Try joining some new clubs or societies at your new school. Speak to your teachers about your exams and confirm what exams are coming. Create a revision timetable and stick to it. Don't stress, you got this!

Sorry to hear that; hope everything better now!
