Plz help :/

Hey guys, Hope your all well. I would really appreciate if someone answered my question. So, I’m currently doing my dissertation. I have had several meetings with my research tutors about alterations that need to be made to my questionnaires. However, I never did a pilot study. Even though I’ve had several meetings with them about changing stuff. Know I have my final copy and given out my questionnaires to people. There has not been any issue and the data I’ve collected has been good so far. What should I do. I’m so worried. :/

Hello Sparklemist,

I would very much encourage you not to worry about this. At UG level (and often at PG level) there is no expectation for you to do a pilot study and as long as your dissertation/principal study is good quality then it should not affect your grade. For example, I did a pilot study for my dissertation because I had time and wanted to, but most people didn't, and and although I was happy with my grade there were people without pilots who achieved higher!

If your data is looking good then that's great as positive results will give you a lot to talk about and infer. But as for the issue with the pilot, I really wouldn't worry at all. Besides, I'm confident that your supervisor will have been encouraging you to run one if it was important, so the fact that they seem fine with what you're doing is a good sign. 🙂

I hope this helps, best of luck!

Tysm for your reply. I did have a conversation with them and they pretty much said what you said. Have a good day! 🙂
