how did she act like she doesn't care?

I'm currently on call with my friend but she mentioned something that's on my mind. so for the story I'll just call my friend k and her friend ill call g
so she was overthinking so I called k and she told me something that was bugging her. so like a month ago she was on call g (I was not a fan of this friend even before she told me Abt this) and k was in a **** relationship her bf would threaten her all the time saying stuff like he would kill himself if she wouldn't do it or that she doesn't love him or he would hit her. he would make her do things she didn't want to do and was uncomfortable with. anyways on this call a month ago k and g were on call and k broke up with her bf and she was so scared and he ****ed up her mental health so much and k cut her self multiple times on the call with g and g didn't even care the next day g is dating him and then 3 days later g and him ****ed and g treated k like **** and got mad at her for leaving him bc "he's a good guy"
after a month of g treating us like we are worse than trash g walked in on him in bed with a different girl and she went to k like she hasn't been treating us like **** and constantly telling us to kill ourself.

so k told me g talked to her but g got ****ed off when k said he wont change and she tried telling her but she wouldn't listen to her

(I left a good bit out of this if you got questions so you can understand more I'll try to answer them)

all I'm thinking about is, Why didn't she even try to get her to stop hurting herself? bc I would try even if it was the death of me bc k is everything to me and ik the bull **** she has to go through isn't fair either.

why didn't k tell me till now?

what can I do to help k?

why didn't k call me that night instead of g?

why is g so defensive over him?

why didnt k tell me how bad the relationship was tell now?

does k trust me?

does k know I'll always be there for her?

I'd suggest trying to distract k from her situation, and if she still gets reminded, then tell her that you would always support her. Try to divert k from her toxic relationships and friendships. If that doesn't work, try and help k to escape the self harming situation by suggesting alternatives (such as painting) and tell her that she can vent about this toxic boy anytime. Perhaps k wasn't telling you because her boyfriend might have been strongly toxic, and so might have been g
