Will taking time out of uni for mental health/addiction treatment be held against me?

Like will I be unemployable and seen as a liability who could have a breakdown at any point? Or will I be able to just say it was medical leave and nothing further? I’m worried it will come up if any jobs I apply for ask uni for references? I study law but I don’t want to be a lawyer, I’m thinking more like research or academia. And it’s not my choice to take the time out so I can’t get out of or postpone it.

I think you'll just be able to say it was medical leave - employers are required not to hold medical leave against you. If anyone asks just say you had severe mental health issues which you have since recovered from. Best of luck 🙏

Thank you, I'm hoping uni won't include it in any employer references for me
