dentistry at glasgow uni

so i’m in s5, and im doing bio, chem, maths, english and geography all at higher. i have to choose my subjects for s6, and i was wondering if i needed three advanced higher or just two. i was going to do AH biology and AH chemistry and higher spanish then crash higher business and nat 5 travel and tourism (if i get a study period then im dropping this). but to get into the university of glasgow should i do AH biology chem and maths? or just two AH?

As a medical applicant this year, I am doing 3 adv highers and Dundee has given a conditional on all 3. If you are good at maths, I would go for 3 adv highers. Better to be safe than sorry at the end of the day.

Great to hear you're thinking of studying here at Glasgow!

Please find below the entry requirements for the Dentistry BDS:

•

AAAAB Higher + BB Advanced Higher (AAAAB S5 minimum for consideration)

•

Additional requirements: Higher Biology and Chemistry at grade A. Higher Maths or Physics and National 5 English at grade B. 3 subjects in S6 to include Advanced Higher Biology and Chemistry. UCAT (www.ucat.ac.uk for more information). Interview.

Although they've only asked for BB at Advanced Higher, doing 3 Advanced Highers would definitely strengthen your application. It's worth keeping in mind that although meeting the entry requirements puts you in a good position, university entry can be quite competitive, so having the additional qualification would be beneficial.
