University of Exeter - 3rd year psychology students dissertation

Hi,
Any 3rd year students at university of Exeter studying psychology who have been doing a dissertation, I’m just wondering how much freedom and choice you have over your dissertation as I’ve heard some universities do have restrictions? Can you stray away from psychology, does it have to be from a selected list? Tell em anything you think i should know about the dissertation process in third year?
Your dissertation most certainly is going to need to sit in your subject area. Particularly I would expect this for psychology as there may be requirements for the BPS accreditation side of things...

Whether you get to choose your title freely within your subject area (with guidance from your supervisor), or whether you can freely choose your supervisor from department faculty members who are willing to supervise you or you are assigned a supervisor, or whether you are given a set title and supervisor, very much varies between unis and departments and is probably something to ask your personal tutor (if you're a current Exeter student) or at an open day (if an applicant).
