I'm planning on making Glasgow my first choice, but as its conditional B, B and a pass for my 3 advanced highers, I'm not sure whats best to do for my insurance. I have an unconditional for Biomedical Science but I know I can't go through the UCAT / interview process again next year so am thinking of making Edinburgh my insurance for medicine as they only need a BB at AH. What is everyone else doing?

Edinburgh seems like the choice to make if you’re set on medicine. If you’re ok with doing biomed however the unconditional seems like a good choice

Anyone kniw what the itinerary is for offer holders day?

I'm booked on Medicine Tour at the Queen Elizabeth Teaching and Learning Centre. Assuming all the chat will be here, but unsure.

Also booked accomodation tour but might give it a miss.

There are also 2 medicine talks, both of which have the same content but at different times

On the application portal, if you click on applications where it says your status (example: conditional firm). Above it says academic plan. What does it say for you guys? for me it says pre clinical medicine MBChB

I'm in a similar position, Glasgow needs BB and a pass so I am planning on putting that as my firm then either unconditional optometry caledonian as an insurance or Edinburgh med BC offer, it's a very stressful decision and I think I may wait till all my exams are over to decide 😬

I've firmed Glasgow and have Edinburgh as insurance, it the exams go badly I'll just try again next year!

2 questions: when they say BB and a pass, do they mean a pass as in a C or a pass as in a D? also, if, God forbid, someone doesn't meet those conditions and they want to try again the following year, how would they go about doing that? isn't the problem (low AH grades) still gonna be a problem, even a whole year later, bc those are kinda set in stone.. its not like UCAT/interview where u can redo it. so does that mean they won't get in to med ever? or is there something im missing here?

Glad to hear you have figured it out, I'm lost after that chem paper yesterday lmao I don't want to go through the whole med application process again either so I am hoping I'll figure out what to do soon haha

its always better to put a medicine option as your insurance - guarantees you get to do medicine even if you don't ge tthe grades for your firm
