Maths gcse

Hey guys, I did my maths GCSE last year in year 10, predicted 9. However, i get 5 marks away from 9. 8+ was my grade, and I know why I lost a hefty amount of marks. Well after the exam, i knew whatever is in the box is photoed and sent to be marked online. I thought it was hand marked. My working out exceeded beyond to blank page or outside the box and sometimes my answer would be visible and not working out. This silly mistake made me loose like 20 marks, maybe more. And my 5 others in my school did theirs, 3 scraped a 9 and 2 others 8. Other people make fun of my 8 and how I am not as smart as others who get 9. I dont really care cause I made my mind of doing it again with the rest and get that 9 to prove them wrong.
I just want to know, if I re sit the gcse maths this year, do I pay and if I get unlucky or if i fell off and get less than what I got in y10, which mark will count, GCSE y10 or y11?

To answer your question: The higher grade would count.
Why the hell are people making fun of you for an 8 in maths? Most people I know are struggling to get 5s!!!
I don't think you need to retake Maths at all: you can do anything you want with an 8. Swallow your pride (not meant insultingly) and ignore what others say about you, because you are leagues above most of the country

Ahhh oki, thankss. Also they think I am not as smart as those with 9s but it's fine. I am also doing statistics and further so I might as well get maths revision and get out with 9
