Hey there,

I understand being worried about scores you're getting at university! I've been there - and how you see it does depend what you're aiming for or happy with.

Getting 58 and 65 scores consistently should still hopefully set you up for a 2:1 (Upper Second Class Honours), which if employers are looking at the grade of the degree (which isn't always the case, a degree is a degree!) is what they are looking for! Furthermore, postgraduate study is still a solid option with a 2:1, sometimes with bursaries and scholarships - for example, as Liverpool Hope University Alumni achieving 2:1 or higher meant I was offered 25% of tuition for my MA degree!

Also, remember, while second year is important - third year is the big one. So if you can keep this up, and maybe even improve on your writing or whatever other assignments you have, being solidly within the 60-70 region of marks should set you up nicely for a strong 2:1.

I would recommend looking into services offered by the Open University to assist in study help and writing assistance - even at Master's level, I'm doing the same with my uni to improve my writing hopefully to a solid Distinction level!

Sometimes, just having the aim to improve, and being open to that possibility can make all the difference - it certainly has for me.

All the best wishes for your degree, I hope this has helped!
