if u get an unconditional for strathclyde but fail an adv higher that’s not related to ur course can they take the unconditional offer back?
Hi Anon 🙂 Massive congrats on the unconditional offer! What did you apply to study?
The Unconditional offer means we're happy to accept you to the course with your qualifications as they are. There's nothing further we're looking for academically from school so no, we wouldn't take the unconditional back if it turned out you've failed it.
Advanced highers are good ways to help with uni prep in general, but especially if they're in a relevant area (e.g. AH Physics and Maths for Engineering routes) so if you're struggling with the course content speak with your teachers to see if there's anything they can help with.

If Strathclyde offer an unconditional for chemistry with teaching will I still need to pass an interview or can I assume I have a place starting in September - the additional entry requirements on the uni site state an interview is required but after I accepted the unconditional offer through UCAS I received a congratulations you are in message from UCAS but nothing yet from Strathclyde - this was 2 weeks ago Thank you!

Hi @amenable-rubber 🙂 Sorry for the delay in my reply, I've been out of the office lately.
I believe there will still be an interview yes, but this is conducted by the Education department (and the admissions for Chemistry with Teaching are managed by the Chemistry department). If you've not heard anything from them yet I'd drop them an email at [email protected] to ask for more info!
