cancelled student finance

basically i did one year undergrad and am now changing my degree. last year i cancelled my application but my university somehow automatically set my student finance to them and it wasn’t leaving till after i got one payment of my maintenance loan. no tuition fee got paid to the university and i managed to cancel it eventually but will this count towards my 4 years i’m allowed to get student finance. because i know it’s a degree plus 1 year which i have already used. or will they just take the money from this September payment? just wondering if this will affect that and they will count it as i spent 1 year at university? thanks

Hi there,

If you were enrolled on the course then yes, this would count as a year of previous study. Thanks, Jason

We'd need them to send us a 'not in attendance' withdrawal to correct this. They may have previously done this when they sent over your withdrawal. If they have, then your future funding won't be affected. You can start a live chat with us to check if we did receive this and if not, contact the university. Thanks, Jason

You'll have received an overpayment letter with ways to pay this back or any monies not paid would then be removed from your entitlement for next year. I would advise checking with us via the live chat if we've received this. Thanks, Jason
