University of Law Fee Liability?

Hi,
So I withdrew from my course at uni, I submit a withdrawal request on 23/09/2024, the process went smoothly and everything. I had an exit interview on the 27/09/2024 which was just to tell them I’m fine with withdrawing and my student journey advisor explaining any fees I would be liable to pay, she explained that she would contact the university sfe team and get back to me. She emailed on the 04/10/2024 and said that my outstanding liability fee is £0 and how I don’t owe anything, she then sent a follow up email after confirming I still want to withdraw, she stated the same thing that I don’t owe any money. Now, a couple days ago I’ve recieved and email from the university sfe team which states I have an overdue balance of £770.84? I’ve then emailed them back saying it can’t be right as I was told I don’t owe anything, they’ve now just emailed saying “Within the terms and conditions of your acceptance letter it states there is a 14-day cooling off period, this period of time gives you 14 days to withdraw from the course without being liable for your fees. As you did not cancel within the 14 days of your acceptance letter being sent you are therefore liable for fees. As per our records you withdrawn from the course on 23/09/2024. Therefore liable for four terms out of twelve, so you are liable for the remaining amount £770.84.” I’m confused.

Hello there!

I am really sorry to hear about your worries. I hope you get it resolved soon!

I am unsure on what are the exact policies, however my best suggestion would be to get in touch with the student services team via call. They are generally great with helping students out with such matters.

Depending on which country and campus you are at, you can get their contact from any emails they have given as well as online on their websites.

As you mentioned you have been emailing them before, it would be helpful to get records of the payments, dates of the emails, and any other documents you need to help your situation.

This may be general information but hopefully, this will help you speak to them and get this matter figured out!
