Any recommendations would be appreciated

Hey @ilovespareribs ,

Hope you're well! What course are you taking or do you need a laptop for? I'm not the best at recommending specific laptops however anything that will last for the entirety of your 3/4 year degree will be great. Some companies often recommended by others are: Lenovo, HP, Asus.

Alternatively, if you go into a shop like Currys they could potentially help you find a laptop that is suited to your price budget too! Good luck finding something 🙂

What's your mobility profile? As in how much carrying of your laptop do you expect to do on foot and by public transport and what sort of physical build are you?

This will determine the right size of laptop for you.
From there I can look out specific deals on ebay.

The best laptops for uni are used premium business laptops for under £250 from ebay. Because they're sensibly priced and they're engineered better than consumer grade laptops. Even if they're a few years old, they will still be lightning fast for all the usual student requirements.

If you're going to uni in September and don't need a laptop till then, buy a laptop in August. As the goalposts are constantly creeping in the right direction for what you get for what money.

Hey @ilovespareribs

An alternative method that just came to mind is potentially going into a CeX store. Usually if they have anything on the shop floor you could have a look but even online I'm sure there'll be great options in your price budget too.

I'd like to hope whatever you purchase will last for the entirety of the degree and usually good laptops too. Good luck finding something!
