Access to nursing and midwifery but wanting to apply for dental hygiene?

I have been working as a dental nurse for around 6 years, I have my maths and English functional skills and I'm currently on an access course for nursing and midwifery, I have always wanted to be a hygienist but the closest university to me is Portsmouth and the dental hygiene is super competitive and difficult to get on ( only taking 22 out of around 600 a year), so I made the decision to try my hand at nursing. I enjoy dentistry and it's and feel its a shame to waste all I have learned. my question is, has anybody applied for dental hygiene at Portsmouth and got in with this particular access course?

I did an access course that was 'health professions' and am in NCL uni doing DT. They don't mind the name as long as you have enough biology topic in there, Chem is good too if you can but not essential as my course was made up of Biology, Psychology & Sociology. I didnt want to do Soc but only course I could do where I'm from. But was probably the least helpful part of my access but might be good if ppl do general nursing? Good Luck!

Your best bet is to email the university. You can find their email online.
