PGCE Placement

I have 2 questions. I’m currently doing an early years PGCE course. I’ve pretty much come to the conclusion that I don’t want to teach. However I’ve pretty much finished the uni side of the course. I would stick out placement but even with student finance I’m struggling to be able to afford it.

So my questions. If I have passed all my uni assignments can I still get my PCGE if I don’t complete placement? And if I was to stop going to placement but continue to attend my lectures would I still receive student finance/ the same amount?
Thanks

I am almost certain you would not get your PGCE if you did not complete your placement because I am pretty sure that the placement is assessed and that contributes to your final qualification (i.e. it actually demonstrates you can teach in real life and not just on paper).

From my understanding you need to attend placement to be able to complete aspects of the PGCE course. But I’ve completed those bits I need for my assignments. I know I wouldn’t get my QTS if I don’t complete placement which I’m not fussed about that. I just don’t want to have wasted the last few months worth of work that I've put in on the uni side. But I also can’t afford to finish the course. I don’t want to walk away with nothing
