hi guys i am a student in year 12 doing alll the three sciences (bio,chem,physic) and for my first mock i have done terrible(E-bio E-chem D-phy) compared to my gcse grades where i got all 7s and above is there any effective revision websites or stuff i can use bcoz i want to do medicine ina good uni and the uplearn advert keeps appearing on my youtube , snapchat feed and is it any good and does it help you get the grades

my school pay for uplearn; personally i don’t like it but i do know a lot of people who find it helpful, but is very expensive i think.
for me the best way i’ve been revising is anki. don’t make notes in lessons just make flashcards on anki from powerpoints etc (if you can use laptop in lessons). try and keep up with doing the flashcards when they’re due and then once you’ve covered a topic use physics and maths tutor to do the past paper questions for it. i do bio and chem (not physics) and this has been working for me as a current y13 student with med offers. hope this helps and lmk if you have any questions about anki etc!!!

I meant more what methods did you use, sorry for the lack of clarity. I just want to figure out what you are doing well on and what can be done to improve your revision.

How does your sixth form do predictions? Are u gonna take a gap year ??

Hi I’m predicted A* in bio and A in chemistry

For chemistry I would say watch allery chemistry to get a good understanding of the topic, then I use chemrevise + bits of allery chemistry to make anki flashcards then once you’ve understood and learned the content do lots of ppqs, modify your notes with the markscheme if necessary

For biology I watch Miss estruch for understanding then make flashcards based off of her videos, for the practicals I make them using PMT and past paper questions then after that I do past papers questions, for biology it’s really important you modify your flashcards according to the markscheme bcs they’re so specific abt ur wording 😭

For both subjects whilst you make the flashcards make sure you have a tab with the specification open alongside to make sure ur covering the exact content you need

My college pays for uplearn and if I’m being honest, I absolutely hate it but other ppl have found it useful, just not me

edit: I just read that this was ur first mocks, it’s normal to have crap grades on ur first mocks and for biology maybe focus more on understanding the content and AO1 questions and some relevant application questions right now rather then doing full on ppqs, bcs for biology when doing exam questions alot of the topics cross over so you don’t wanna get confused
