NTU Commuting worries

Hi i currently live in Nottingham and would like to attend NTU this September and continue to live at home, just wondering if anyone on here has commuted in their first year and how they found it socialising and stuff as I wouldn’t be living with anyone else
Hi,

It's great you're thinking about joining NTU this September!

I was a previous student at NTU (graduated 2019) and I lived in private rented accommodation my first year and moved away from the city centre in my second year, so my entire experience at NTU was outside of halls. I found getting involved with NTSU Societies was where I made most of my friends, and we're still close to this day!

My main regret was not getting involved earlier, as I missed most of the welcome events held at the start of the term, but I was still able to settle in well despite being a late joiner. As well as this there tends to be plenty of course specific events and opportunities to meet people as well.

We have some great information about commuting to university including some of the opportunities to get involved and socialise, as well as travel information. It's helpful to remember as well that a lot of people in your first year will be in a similar position to you, looking to meet new people and find their footing.

I hope this helps, let us know if you have any questions!
