What is the route to paediatric nursing?

I am in Yr13 currently doing my ALEVELS. I have applied to university of adult nursing course. Everyone says it’s good to take on adult nursing course.
However, my goal is to become a paediatric nurse. I don’t know what is the most quickest and best way to become a paediatric nurse.
Can someone help me please?

Hey. Can I ask why you decided to apply for adult nursing instead of children’s nursing if you wanted to become a paediatric nurse?

Everyone around me said If I was going to do nursing, then I should do adult nursing because there are more opportunities within it. Can I not become a paediatric nurse with adult nursing qualification?

More adults exist than children = more adult nurses required = more perceived opportunities.
Yes, there's the occasional adult nurse within children's nursing, but they will have had additional training as children are not mini adults and treatment is different.

An adult nursing degree trains you to care for the physical health of people aged 18+. The careers and opportunities opened to you are very much in this area as that's what you've been trained to do (and have the qualification and registration for).

If you want to become a paediatric nurse, the best route is to study paediatric/children's nursing. You're only at the stage of having an offer - your best bet is to enquire about changing course, or to withdraw application and re-apply for children's nursing. (Doing this isn't the end of the world - a lot of people change their minds about what they want to do, apply late, take gap years etc!)

But I have received offers for all, do you think I can still change because I feel I may not be able to do that

Ok thanks, cause I didn’t know if going through clearing means I have the chance to do child nursing as it may not be available. I will email all universities and ask though.
Thankyou everyone
