a level biology?? as some1 who is quite slow?

I have a few weeks before I need to confirm my a level choices.

Right now I’m thinking about German, business and psychology. However, I have gone from a grade 3 in biology to a grade like 7 within a month ish because one day I just decided I enjoyed studying it ahah.

I find most parts somewhat easy to understand, and I enjoy studying it. I am awful at maths, and don’t do any other sciences. However, I really enjoy the subject and I feel motivated to learn.

Is a level biology really hard to understand - or is it more just revision of things? Maybe I’m thinking unrealistically here, but I would like to see what others who have done a level biology think on this!

I chose psychology as it has a bit of science on like the brain etc, but I feel like pushing myself further and doing biology unless it involves a lot of chemistry or is more based on biochemistry/biotechnology/molecularbio.

Hey! I did biology at a level and the best advice I can give you is only pick biology if you need it for what you want to do in the future like if it’s a requirement for the course you want to do at uni. Otherwise, ur wasting your time. I made that mistake but oh well. I struggled with biology the most just because it’s very content heavy and exams are so difficult to pick up marks in because of the precise mark scheme. If you have any other questions about biology a level I’m happy to help!

honestly a level biology is not as bad as most people make it out to be. as long as you enjoy it & take the time to be explicit in your exam responses you should be fine!

As someone who went from a 3 to a 7 in biolofy during GCSEs and enjoyed it after revising it in year 11 I picked it for a level now I’m on an E… if u don’t need it then DONT DO IT (I’m in year 13 and no it does not get better)

I am doing a level bio and it is horrible:frown: the content is easy to understand but the mark scheme is so harsh and the questions are all about applying so it feels like no matter how hard u have revised, u still can’t ans the q, like u have done no revision.
