i had a friend who got in without ever applying, they just had to email the school and ask if they can enrol with their grades (which were all 5-7s). although they probably got in because they were from a feeder school so they had automatic priority. if its going to be the same as last year then theres 4 groups (this is from an email they sent):

Group 1 9:00 AM offer holders who have been on Free School Meals, offer holders from feeder schools, offer holders who are looked after children, offer holders who receive an APS of 8.0+ on their official GCSE grade results

Group 2 11:00 AM offer holders in Group 1 and offer holders who receive an APS of 7.75+ on their official GCSE grade results

Group 3 12:00 PM offer holders in Groups 1 and 2 and offer holders who receive an APS of 7.5+ on their official GCSE grade results

Group 4 1:00 PM students in Groups 1, 2 and 3 and any offer holder who meets our entry requirements

obviously ur best chance is to get into group 1 but if u don't u still have a chance (I was group 3 and got in). keep in mind that if u turn up earlier than ur group, ur gonna have to wait outside until they let you in.
i think you have a fair chance at getting in if u have the grades, especially cuz ur not doing any of the popular stem subjects.
i hope this helps

what if i didnt get an offer based on my mock results? they sent out emails yesterday saying “they couldnt accept me” or smth and like im just wondering what the chances would be if i managed to get an 8.0 in the actual exam? would i be put in group 1,even tho i wasnt like in the process after offers were sent out?. and im lowk confused abt like when we go to submit our results, is it the same day as results day or like after or smth. sorry i have sm questions but my skl doesnt rlly talk abt these things 💔

you enrol and show the school ur grades on results day, although my friend enrolled like a day or two after results day. im not too sure on how it works but i know that in the previous years there were people who just emailed the school and turned up without applying and got in. i believe u just need email them ur results on the day and if they have space and u have the grades they'll let you enrol. again, ur subjects are more likely to have space so i'd say you'd have a fair chance in getting in. the higher ur grades are the higher the chance you have to get in.

how do they calculate the APS is it your grades divide by 8 or your grades divide by how much subjects you take. i take 9. also i dont understand the grouping system when it says at the start of each group the previous group could u clarify that a bit please thank u. also im wanting to do bio chem maths phsych do u think it will fill up quick. also my predicted grades are 7 7 7 7 6 6 6 8 6 do you think thats good enoug and what group will it be

its ur highest 8 grades so ur APS would be 6.75 i think, so u'd be in group 4. im assuming its more competitive this year so i suggest trying to improve ur grades for the actual exams so u can get into the higher groups. ik further maths filled up pretty quickly last year but im not sure about normal maths. there are a lot of classes for maths so there will probably be space. not sure if by phsych u mean psychology or physics, but if its physics then it fills up really quickly. there is an option to switch subjects like 2 weeks into the school year i think so if u dont get the subjects u want then there's still a chance to swap as a lot of people drop out of physics.

Do you know if we have to take physical results or once I get there can I show them results from the email (our school doesn''t let us physically pick up results so I''ll only get them on an email). i don't have time to print my results either from the email as I live over an hour away from the school. thanks!!

They do require you bring a physical copy of your results (and ID) cuz they photocopy it i think during enrolment to put into their system or smth.

You'll probably be fine, they've been interviewing new teachers so I assume there's gonna be more maths classes for ur year so there will probably be a lot more space for maths and further maths. Subjects started to fill up at like 12/1pm but even if you don't get one you can try and switch to the subject u didn't get after i think 1st week of school. Although just a heads up about econ, ik this year there was like a waiting list of 30-40 kids who wanted to switch to econ but couldn't cuz it was full so if you dont get econ (which i doubt would happen if u get into group 1) make sure to just fill out the form as soon as its sent out cuz they do it first come first serve.
(sorry for late response)
