ADVICE? - London Metropolitan University and Kingston University

I'm currently in Year 13 and put Kingston University as my Firm Choice and London Metropolitan University as my Insurance Choice.

I think I made a terrible mistake.
Is Kingston University good at all or bad, I've seen mixed reviews.

London Metropolitan University is ranked 127th/130 on University league tables.

I'm also applying to degree apprenticeships now too.

What should my plan be now?
Should I go through clearing or stick with the options?

@Smartyishaq12344 I don't know much about London Methropolitan University because I'm studying at Kingston University. Your choice really depends on what you are looking for in term University experience.

I can tell you that Kingston is a great University and great options for many student, international or non-international. It is great if you looking for a diverse environment as it is very international and you get to meet people from all over the world.

it is also amazing for academic growth and social experience. The university offer degree apprenticeship program, which I think can be a great option for you if, you looking to gain practical experience while studying.

As I said, Kingston being the right place for you depend on what you are seeking for in university experience. If your looking for both academic and practical learning, then I think you should considere it.

But I think you should compare both and see which fits more for you.

You can read more about the apprenticeship program here.

Hi! I totally understand why you are feeling unsure right now.But there’s no need to panic. I had similar doubts when I was making my decisions, so you are definitely not alone.

As someone currently studying at London Met, I can honestly say there is a lot more to the university than the rankings suggest. One of the biggest strengths here is the support you get from lecturers and staff. The class sizes are smaller compared to a lot of other universities, which means you get much more personal attention, and the tutors genuinely care about your progress. That has made a huge difference for me.

Being based in London is also a massive advantage. You are right in the middle of everything, with so many opportunities for internships, part-time work, and networking events, whatever industry you are interested in, London has it. Plus, the diversity here is amazing. You meet people from all over the world, and there is a real sense of community on campus, which has made my experience even better.

It’s great that you are thinking about degree apprenticeships too, as that gives you more options to gain practical experience. My advice is to visit both universities if you can, or at least join an open day, because the vibe of a place matters just as much as the academics.

At the end of the day, it’s about where you feel you will be happiest and most supported. Good luck with everything. you’ve got this!
