Strathclyde Ucas Extra

Hello, I am wondering whether Strathclyde participates in UCAS Extra, as I have received all five offers my offers for journalism, but have realised that I am not happy with the universities I have chosen. Would it be worth applying to Strathclyde through UCAS extra even though it is after the January deadline or would I be unlikely to receive an offer?

Extra only opens on the 26th of Feb, so the Jan deadline is not relevant.

In brief, you need to contact Strathclyde and ask whether that particular course is still open and considering applications. If so, you can use Extra so long as you have all your application replies, and either received no offers, or have declined them all.

In quite sure UCAS extra is only for those who do not get any offers, the fact you have offers I’m sure not eligible. If you are not happy with your offers only thing would be to reject them and apply via clearing in August

No actually it’s not, I’ve already researched this, you can use UCAS extra if you reject all your current offers.

Hi @rachel11256 🙂 If you're still interested in the same subject area it sounds like you'd be looking to apply to our BA Humanities & Social Sciences. Normally courses under that degree structure don't have vacancies through UCAS Extra unfortunately. I can't say whether we're likely to have vacancies through clearing for this course at this time but you could check back around results days.

Strathclyde has 12 journalism related programmes, so you might want to specify which ones you are looking at (or ask about all of them if your want to keep your options open).
