Diploma funding

My daughter is 18 (19 in January) she has been offered a place to do a dance diploma level 6 but can’t get a student loan because she is not going to Uni and she can’t get a learning loan because she is not 19 when the course starts
This seems unfair as had she been 19 this September she could have the loan , can anyone advise ?

Hi Sharoncat,

The eligibility criteria for the Advanced Learner Loan is that the student is aged 19 or over. I appreciate what you are saying however, that is the policy. She would be eligible for the next intake once she has turned 19.

Thanks, Clare
