Is EPQ useful + any alternatives ?
Hi , my school has a limited amount of spaces to do an EPQ and my application got rejected 
((((( I am really upset as I really wanted to do an EPQ as I want to do Law or a social science at uni and thought this would be a good opportunity for me to showcase my writing ability as i take chem,his,psych for alevels and wanted to have evidence of literacy ability . Anyways should i beg to do one?? Can you do it privately ?? AND MOST IMPORTANTLY a) how useful is it for universities such Kings , LSE and b) ARE THERE ANY ALTERNATIVES I CAN DO ? thank youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuyuyuuuuuuuuuuuu

From what I've seen, most Russel group unis and unis with high entry requirements don't consider the epq during your application process. However, I do think that doing an epq can help with preparing you for uni, as you get the chance to do individual research, and I personally really enjoyed doing my epq. I think it can't hurt to try emailing your school and letting them know how important doing an epq is to you - perhaps someone will change their mind and drop it in the first couple of weeks and you can take their place.

i got rejected aswell to do the epq and now i've decided to just do it privately but damn it hundreds of pounds!!!!
I also wanna do law and want to get into the top unis i've been told my career's mentor that epq really just depends on the uni u want to apply to, if they dont consider the epq then there's no point in doing it privately ONLY if your doing just for the purpose of uni ygm?
U can do it general ig lowk seems fun!!

All my current offers are reduced because of it and it’s such a life skill. I’d also recommend doing your EPQ on something related to what your degree would be so you can tell if you would like the uni style research type of work
