Memorisation…

Im not really good at memorising content. And with my mocks being tomorrow, English lit. I haven’t really revised. Does anyone have any tips on how to memorise a lot under a little bit of time, without so much stress

If it's quotes that you need to memorise, I recommend blank page retrieval. just write all the quotes you know on a blank page, then check them against your list of quotes to memorise and add in any you missed. This works better if you repeat it over time but it should help short term as well. What worked for me was also trying to memorise more quotes than was necessary so that way if I forgot a few i'd still have a bunch memorised, whereas if I memorised just enough then if I forgot any I might not have any quotes for a specific question. Also, for English lit maybe try memorising small sections of quotes rather than longer sentences. Hope this helps!

I personally never memorised specific analysis points, I'd just analyse in the exam because I feel like memorising analysis limits what you can say and the points you've learned may not be relevant to the question. I would obviously use things we talked about in class in the exams if I remembered them but I never made a point of memorising specific analysis points. I'd suggest maybe blank page retrieval for this as well, like annotating the quotes you're learning or making mind maps around specific themes.

Hi, just memorise through videos. They bombard you with info, take a black sheet, and take what you need. You can even take some extra quotes for analysis! I recommend Mr Gruffs Character and Theme Analysis videos, best of luck!
