Sutton Trust - US vs UK summer school

i applied for the us summer school but wanted to apply to the uk one too - i am aware you can only go to one but i wanted to ask if you apply to the us one, is it true that they will reject your uk application regardless of if you get into the us programme or not? if you got accepted onto both, do you choose to accept one?
before i submit my uk application it says
„If you receive a place on the Sutton Trust US programme and apply for the UK Summer School programme, your application will not be considered.„
to me that suggests that your uk one will only not be considered IF you get accepted onto the us programme
could anyone help? thank you 🙏

I applied to do the UK one but I didn't get, bit sad about it. I didn't know there was a US Sutton Summer School? I knew there was a US course, is this a summer school as well?

also yes there was a usa summer school programme where you go to the usa for a week however applications are closed and decisions have been sent out already 💔
