Can I choose to do a law module when studying maths and computer science @ exeter

The title really says it all. I'm currently in first year wondering which elective modules I can take.

Hi anonymous,

As a current student I would recommend familiarising yourself with the information on this webpage here, and consulting the FAQs or contacting the info point directly to discuss your situation and which modules you are interested in.As law modules aren't included in the typical programme for computer science and maths (described on the webpage here), you would have to take any law modules through modularity - which allows students to take up to 30 credits outside their main discipline each year.

Please note that timetabling restrictions and pre-requisites may still apply, and that you must still satisfy all the compulsory components of your main degree before exercising any modularity options. It is worth noting that not choosing optional modules from within your subject may also limit your later module choices if those modules serve as specified pre-requisites for later modules - i.e. not choosing an optional second year maths module may preclude you from taking a related third year maths module if it is a pre-requisite.

I hope that information is helpful, and would recommend getting in touch with the info point to discuss your choices. Please also don't hesitate to ask any follow up questions here.
