Can I work or gain experience if I'm 17 years old at the hospital?

Hi guys, I'm wondering if I can begin to gain experience in medicine at the hospital? I'm currently studying sixth form, but I'm new in England, so I can not ask another people.

I want to study medicine, I'm studying physics, biology, and chemistry at College.
My question is how can I gain experience being 17 years old? I need experience to do it?

hi , I think there are volunteer programs through the NHS which you can sign up for ..These roles won’t involve hands-on medical work, but they show commitment to healthcare ( check the NHS website ) OR you could contact hospitals or your local GPs and seeing if they would let you on .

Yes most hospitals/GPs etc have schemes in place for 16-18yr olds who want to study Medicine. I'd probably good 'work experience trust board' for your health board, and there is likely to be a contact of some kind relevant to this. Contact them and explain you want to apply for Med, need experience, would this be possible. Go in person to GP practices as well and ask them. Basically try every connection possible and something should come up.

And just to clarify, the work experience will be observing, you won't actually do any work. You will just see how the NHS works.
