Is my GCSE result considered "average" "above average" or "trash"?

Hey guys so basically I recieved my GCSE results in August 22nd 2024, I expected 7s and 8s but to my suprise I got 6 6s in (Maths, CS, Double English, Biology, Chemistry) and 2 5s in Spanish Foundation and Physics higher (all triple sciences higher) and a 4 in DT. I just simply want to know if these are considered "good grades" or not? I know its not outstanding but I feel like I could of did better. Im doing Maths Cs and Economics a level now.
Average to above average if you're talking nationwide.

Don't try to compare yourself to other students on TSR, because TSR is largely used by high achievers (or people who are aiming to be high achievers).

If you want to get into Oxford, LSE, Imperial, UCL, Durham and Edinburgh then you will need to achieve A*/A grades at A-Level and perhaps apply post A-Level i.e. after you've sat your A-Level exams and got your A-Level certificates.

Nevertheless, remember that your GCSEs are above average. 🙂

Oxford will expect 8s and 9s for GCSEs, but most other unis aren't as bothered.

It depends on the course, and if you apply post A-Level with achieved grades, then they will not care as much about lack of 8s and 9s for GCSE. It is just one factor, and if the OP gains A*AA or more he should get an interview (providing he has a strong performance in the admissions test).
