Late UCAS application for psychology

I'm a first year student at UCL doing psychology right now, but have decided to change unis for a personal reason. Two days ago I sent in a late application to Durham, Warwick, York, Bristol, and Exeter for psychology. Do I have any chance of getting in, as a first-year and late applicant for such a popular course?

Late applicant, first year applicant, competitive universities.

It's not out of the question, but I would be lying if I said you're more likely than not to get offers.

I mean you can take some sort of hope that the courses were still open for entry on UCAS, so all is not lost.

Did you check with those universities whether they were still taking applications for psychology before applying?

Yes, I called them up and they said it was fine to apply, and they were all open to apply for on UCAS

Yeah I completely get that, I'm trying not to get too excited about any offers lol. I think my second hope after this would be clearing, where maybe I can snatch something up

UCL is by no means a bad uni! I had a somewhat good time once I got to know more people. I didn't get to make my own choice for universities because of an abusive relationship, and I resented that a lot. Having lived in London my whole life, I've also come to realise that I'd like to get out of the city, and am now taking the chance to do that. UCL and London just weren't the right places for me, but I know I don't speak for everyone, as a lot of my friends (including those born and raised in London) are having a good time! What course are you going for?

Are you re-doing first year or can you transfer onto second year through UCAS too?

Redoing first year out of preference, so I can assimilate into the course and uni a bit better. Are you doing first year or second year?

A fresh start sounds like a good plan. Yes I’m going to an offer holder day for York on April 2nd just a few days after the Exeter one and I’m on my way to Newcastle for tomorrows.
Good luck I hope you get lots of offers

Ah I'm going to the April 2nd one too! Didn't manage to get any spaces for any of the Exeter one in time, though. But I'll maybe see you at the offer holder day then! Good luck with the rest of your offers too, I hope you get into everywhere!

That doesn’t seem fair about Exeter, have you tried calling them to see if they can override the system and fit you in? Yeah might see you at York if my 6th form agree my absence 🤞
