Has anybody else just done the Intermediate Physics Challenge. How did it go for you guys?

It went better than I expected I found that the part b questions were easier than the previous years papers. apparently a gold is around 50% so hopefully I got a gold. How did you do?

Reply 2

Is it actually around 50%?

Reply 3

Yeah it was easier than I expected tbh, but idk if I got gold. There were still a few tricky questions.

What would be expected gold boundary

What would be expected gold boundary

Previous years boundaries are around 25+ for gold 20+ for silver (it’s out of 50)

What did you guys get for the last part of the last question?

When will the mark scheme come out?

What did you guys get for the last part of the last question?

about piano strings i think: short strings produce higher pitches, because more tension. Longer strings produce lower pitches. Thicker strings produce lower pitches- i thin, i might be wrong.

Where did you get these numbers? I've been looking online for so long but alas

Good ish I think I had to guess a question tho. It was the one about the reading on the force meter.

Hopefully I got most of the multiple choice questions correct I had to guess a few.
For section b q11 I wrote an explanation for the first bullet point but didn't get onto the second one. My q12 explanation could've been much better I just put all I know so hopefully my teacher isn't too strict when it comes to marking.
Only managed to do the first part in q13 as in the second part for proving a value I kept on getting a different number 😔
I did all of question 14 so hopefully it's correct.
I feel like it was a but easier than last year's paper but I'm a bit disappointed that there wasn't really any astronomy questions.
(I'm in y10 btw)

Hold up how did you do the IPC then? I swear it’s only for year 11? (But on another note, sounds like you did really good)

It's aimed at y11 but y9s y10s and y11s did it in my school there were around 20 of us. I think you can do it as long as you're not above y11.
I'm hoping to get gold for ipc because I already got gold in junior astronomy challenge, junior physics challenge and intermediate physics challenge but the online one in y9 🙏

I wrote that but I didn't really write why 😔

What is the result date

What is the result date

I know that gold papers have to be submitted by teachers by the 22nd, I'm gonna ask for my result for next week. I don't think there's a set result day unless the grade boundaries are different every year due to how well participants did. If there is a result day, its probably after the 22nd then. I'd suggest to go to your teacher and ask for your mark and you can guess what you got based on that.

Has anyone got their results back?
