My DD has offers from Birmingham and Cardiff for medicine
Birmingham offer A*AA and Cardiff AAA
Seems to make sense to put Birmingham first
But she loved dissection and longer elective in Cardiff
Very sociable but not a big drinker at all
Lives in London
So Birmingham closer.
Ruled out Exeter as too far and wasn’t keen on the city and chance of being in Cornwall

Birmingham is a big city and if being closer to home is a priority it would help to put it first. UOB has a lovely campus and a bigger city than Cardiff but the people in Cardiff are nice and lovely.
Has she been to the offer holder days? Perhaps it could help her put things into more perspective.

For medicine subjects, Cardiff University ranks 14th in The Complete University Guide, and UoB ranks 24th. But for overall rankings, UoB is better than Cardiff. Apart from academic excellence, you also need to consider the facilities and opportunities the university/city offers for your major. List all factors you care about together and collect more information before make the decision.

Thanks she’s accepted Birmingham with Cardiff as back up. Moved on from Cambridge rejection now and looking forward to September in Brum all being well
