Birmingham or Cardiff A100

My DD has offers from Birmingham and Cardiff for medicine
Birmingham offer A*AA and Cardiff AAA
Seems to make sense to put Birmingham first
But she loved dissection and longer elective in Cardiff
Very sociable but not a big drinker at all
Lives in London
So Birmingham closer.
Ruled out Exeter as too far and wasn’t keen on the city and chance of being in Cornwall
Help?
Thanks

Birmingham is a big city and if being closer to home is a priority it would help to put it first. UOB has a lovely campus and a bigger city than Cardiff but the people in Cardiff are nice and lovely.
Has she been to the offer holder days? Perhaps it could help her put things into more perspective.

Thanks she’s accepted Birmingham with Cardiff as back up. Moved on from Cambridge rejection now and looking forward to September in Brum all being well

Hello, current Birmingham student. If you’re not seeing this too late, Birmingham is not all it’s set out to be. Many people I know are depressed and stressed which I’m not saying is unusual in medical school but my friends in Cardiff I speak to say the work life balance seems much more chill which means a lot. Just food for thought and everyone should make their own decision.

Hi there!

Cardiff University student here - glad to hear your daughter has made a decision  If you still had questions or wondering anything about Cardiff though, I would be more than happy to answer
