Anyone still waiting for Durham Law offers?

After all the Durham rejections is anyone still waiting for offers? I applied in October still waiting to hear back, Is anyone else in a similar position. Don’t know if I should give up hope or remain optimistic.

Wow, if you don’t mind me asking, whag are your predicted grades? And what super curriculars did you do?

I dont mind at all, my predicted grades were A*A*A* and i had a range of super curriculars mainly about current laws, historical contexts and wider reading, for extra curriculars i kept it brief talking about being head student etc

Wow, im currently in year 12, and so far I’ve got around 6-7 super curriculars, all law related, and might become head boy, but I think I’ll only manage to get A*A*A or A*AA, if I do get that, and a good LNAT, let’s say 28+, would I still be a competitive applicant? Since most would have 3 A*?

yeah just remember its quality > quantity with the personal statement, i opted to go into depth on a few areas rather than take a broad approach at surface level, you might struggle to fit 6-7 super curriculars into the word count without it ending up like a list

On your second point, i dont think it gives a major advantage having A*A*A* over A*AA or anything like that, as long as you meet the minimum entry requirements of A*AA for Cambridge, i think you would likely need higher than 28 to be a strongly competitive applicant as this year Oxford had an average of 30 for offer holders

Got told on my application they have no room left. peak for anyone who hasnt heard back yet they've filled the course.

seems like they just put everyone's name into a hat and picked the first few hundred lol, pretty weird application process imo seems like theres no actual reasons why people are getting rejected, just vague half statements

Seems like the consistent reason people are getting are LNAT essays

Not quite correct on the grades. For Arts, Humanities and Soc Sci’s, over 3x as many offers are made for applicants with A*A*A* & A*A*A than for those with A*AA.

I suspect that multiple will be even higher for law since it is one of the most competitive courses in this grouping.

The bottom line is that the better your grades, the more competitive you application will be. See the link in my other post for details.
