what uni is the best for media and communications?

I’ve applied to study media and communications at loughborough and cardiff uni, digital media and comms at UoB, international media and comms at UoN and Media and creative industries at warwick. I’ve had offers from all except warwick and am now struggling as i don’t know which would be best!
Is there anyone on any of these courses who would be able to advise me!!!
Do you have any thoughts on what you might want to do after your degree?

These are all going to be quite theory heavy courses - is that what you’re interested in studying?

i’m thinking about going into marketing but i’m still unsure which is why i was advised to go with these courses because they are more generalised in the content that they cover

It doesn’t look like any of them are CIM accredited https://www.cim.co.uk/qualifications/cim-accredited-degree/

Cardiff has the strongest media department generally but it would be worth checking whether that department is on the list at risk of redundancy/closure.

Do you want a theory heavy course or would you prefer a course that has opportunities to build your practical creative skills and portfolio too?

i’m pretty sure that jomec isn’t on the reduction list yet - i haven’t been informed of it if it is.

Course wise i don’t mind- warwick was appealing because of the amount of practical work but im not sure if i will receive an offer yet

Personally I have a massive soft spot for Cardiff. I think it’s a brilliant city and university. And it has a very strong media/journalism department.
Media industry wise it’s also the city among your choices that has the most opportunities.
But it’s really important to choose a place and course where you think you’ll thrive. Particularly with theory heavy courses you’ll need the mental and empirical energy to get involved in creating things in your free time if that’s something you want to explore as a career so choosing somewhere that you’re happy and have the energy for those extra/super curriculars is the top priority - and a very personal decision.
