Bath or York for marketing
Hii, im an international student hoping to study business management and marketing in the UK. I am torn between Bath and York as my firm choice since I know bath is better for business but I got a scholarship from York. Pls let me know if the program for Marketing is good in York and how the placement year jobs are like in both unis. Thank you pls also let me know what you would pick if you were in my position

It's lovely to hear that you're considering York and congratulations on securing a scholarship!
You don’t say if you’re thinking about undergraduate or postgraduate but I’m guessing undergraduate. The BSc (Hons) Marketing and Marketing (with a year in industry) courses are VERY good, additionally the courses are accredited by the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM). Successfully completing the courses takes you partway towards a professional CIM qualification.
York itself is part of the Russel Group of research intensive universities and the School of Business and Society is at the forefront of research in numerous fields. York is one of just four UK universities rated by TEF as Gold for teaching and top ten for research in the latest national assessment exercises.
You can chat to current students studying management on Unibuddy to find out what the department and York are really like.
Regarding placements, I’d recommend you contact Helen Story ([email protected]) in admissions who will be able to answer your questions in full.
We also have dedicated country reps who can help with queries on courses and funding etc., just select your country from the list and their details will be half way down the page.

Hiya! Glad to hear you’re considering studying at Bath
Bath’s School of Management is consistently ranked as one of the best in the UK so it’s definitely a solid choice! The uni has strong connections with many top employers so students are often able to secure great placements, which can lead to job offers for after graduation. I’m personally not studying on the course but I have housemates who are and did placements for Sony and L’Oreal in London last year, which has given them a huge advantage for applying for jobs this summer.
I was also offered a scholarship at another university and chose to come to Bath without a scholarship, so for me that wasn’t the deciding factor but obviously it does give you a big advantage financially. There’s definitely a lot of different factors to consider when making your choice.
