The Student Room Group

applied to uni (sept 2025 entry) whilst already having started uni last year

i'm kind of panicking rn, so any help would be v appreciated. i'm an international student, started uni in my home country in october 2024. due to problems with the course (no tutorials, every assignment is done in groups of like five to ten people - even graded essays) i decided to apply through ucas to start again elsewhere. i did not indicate in the education section that i am currently at uni. i'm hoping to fix this asap, gonna contact my agent for guidance and to update my education history. i've already got two offers. does anyone know what will likely happen, considering i'm only declaring my current uni at this late stage? i assume i should email all unis letting them know of the update. also, it will be likely impossible for me to provide a reference from my current uni in my home country - we have no assigned tutors - it's really not a thing here - and none of our lecturers know us personally yet since we've only just completed our first sem and there are many of us.

Technically you have committed fraud by not declaring information about your current University studies.
UK Unis will usually forgive this if you tell them as soon as possible (don't wait for your agent to do this), and they will probably want a reference from your current University, reassuring them that you are a competent student and are not being asked to leave tha Uni because of misconduct or academic failure.
Always reassuring to know that agents take people's money without knowing/checking for basic stuff like this. I am in the wrong job.

You need to complete this form and then email your choices directly to confirm the amendment. As above, unis are unlikely to mind so long as you are in good standing at your current uni. I wouldn't trust the agent to sort this out given that they couldn't get it right the first time.
