Which Durham Colleges are the most progressive

Hi all,

Looking to possibly firm my offer at Durham to read English, keen to find a more progressive college where LGBTQ+, people from state schools and POC's feel like they can find their people. I've heard horror stories about how rah some of the Colleges are. I'm at a public school myself, but on a substantial bursary and I've made some brilliant friends here, but I don't want to end up surrounded by the Rugby A team at university. Any suggestions gratefully received.

Hey, I’m from Aidans, which is known as the “Rainbow” college, and I would 100% recommend it for its inclusivity and support it offers students from a diverse range of backgrounds. I know a lot of the hill colleges are inclusive spaces, but even if you get allocated to other colleges that may have certain stereotypes about them you can always go to the JCR for support - many colleges have different societies of their own such as LGBTQ societies and first gen scholars.
